The spookiest thing about Halloween? That its frights and frissons are based on a simple and scary truth: we humans are the source of the villainies that pose the gravest dangers to us, as well as being the easiest mark for them. Be very afraid!

Thanks, Janet. We had the best sort; since our neighborhood has virtually no kids, there are no trick-or-treaters, so we just had a nice, quiet evening of a lazy meal together and watching some movie on TV. Something of a privilege in this period of Richard’s having 2 jobs. The spooky part was probably his having to spend an entire evening with just ME! 😀 😉
