Practice as though Your Life Depended on It
Two singers strolled into a wood, and I
Followed the one less skillful; why?
Starved beasts will flock to an anguished cry,
As they did that day; in the wink of an eye,
I was on the road less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
[With sincerest apologies to Robert Frost]
Haha, well, done! Although I can’t imagine you following the less skilled singer, your voice must have brought your errant partner back on track:D xx
A lovely thought, and yes, my partner is a very skilled singer 😀 even if he mostly sings to demonstrate something in rehearsal or to serenade me with silly songs he makes up to amuse me! On Sunday his Collegium Singers sang an evensong service as guests at the Anglican church in Dallas, and because the presiding priest (a dear, sweet man but not a singer!) preferred not to chant, Richard filled in as cantor and it was a joy to hear him sing ‘IRL’ again. 🙂 xo
Wow I love the photo of that last tree, perfect composition
It was even a ‘composition’ in the musical way as well, with hundreds of grackles sitting in the tree whistling madly as the sun set!
That’s a great bird tree you’ve recorded. Well done.
I only wish I’d had time to capture the sound as well. The evening roosting of grackles is a mighty musical affair!
I’ve heard that “music,” which some would call cacophony.
I know what they mean, but I still call it euphony!
