If you’ve ever heard Miles Davis play, this needs no explanation. If you haven’t ever heard his music, whether you were lucky enough to catch it live or, like me, have only known it through recordings, it’s time you listened. Get a recording, turn it on, and turn off the lights or just close your eyes. And listen. Because.
He was amazing. Real music.
And something quite beyond music, somehow. The mark of the greats. π

Miles Davis, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Carlos Santana … ahhh, yes!
Yes indeedy!!! (And even though they are, for a person like me, utterly unwearable, Santana’s the double threat of a fabulous musician *and* cool shoe designer! π )

I am a great lover and fan of Miles Davis. xxx
Sometimes the more esoteric of his stuff is just right, and sometimes, the much mellower, more sweetly pop-like swing of Someday My Prince will Come. Something for every mood! π
I inherited my dads LP collection when he passed and in it are many many jazz greats including Miles!
What a lovely way to get to remember your dad! β€
Your poem gets it perfectly.
Thank you, Anna. Sometimes, when I’m inspired by a particular piece of music or musical artist, I can hear the work as an undercurrent in my head while writing the homage, and I think that helps. In any case, it pleases my brain!! π

Very good. I’m inspired to look up his work and listen to him.
Then my work here is done. π
